Office Description New York City Department of Education’s Office of Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) is dedicated to strengthening the school system’s relationships with families and communities, and to creating a culture of shared responsibility for student success. Research overwhelmingly demonstrates that family engagement in school-based activities is strongly correlated with improved student outcomes. Experts also advocate for family engagement as a strategy for building college and career pathways and improving educational systems.
Internship Responsibilities - Provide day to day office support of the FACE Team.
- Assist in the collection, recording, and maintaining of data/information, and assist in the drafting of briefings related to the status of parent empowerment.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and maintaining records.
- Represent our programs to the community and build relationships with parents and families.
- Assist with the coordination of logistics and prepare briefings for meetings.
- Support the Office of Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) priorities regarding the school community.
- Draft friendly, articulate memos.
Qualifications/Special Skills/Area Of Study Marketing/Communication
Strong Microsoft Office skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
UNDERGRADUATE OR GRADUATE INTERN? Undergraduate IN-PERSON, REMOTE, HYBRID MODEL? In Person Salary : $17.50/Hour
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
