**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** As a Welder, you will be responsible for setting appropriate welding machine parameters for the material being welded and making welds that meet print specifications. Your role will involve producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent. You will follow required procedures and use appropriate fixtures to assist in the assembly process, ensuring the finished part conforms to print specifications and quality standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for properly using and maintaining tools, fixtures, and machines. **Responsibilities** + Set appropriate welding machine parameters for materials being welded. + Make welds that meet print specifications. + Produce strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent. + Follow required procedures and use appropriate fixtures during assembly. + Verify conformance of finished parts to print specifications and quality standards. + Properly use and maintain tools, fixtures, and machines. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in MIG welding, including welding vertical, flat, and overhead. + Ability to operate acetylene torches. + Exceptional math skills, including knowledge of the metric system and angles. + Ability to read tape measures and angle finders. + Competency in reading blueprint drawings and AWS symbols. + Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Knowledge of stainless steel welding. + Experience with flux core welding. **Work Environment** You will work in a dynamic environment that requires precision and attention to detail. The role involves using advanced welding technologies and equipment, including MIG welders, acetylene torches, forklifts, and overhead cranes. The facility adheres to high safety and quality standards, ensuring a secure and efficient workspace. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trussville, Alabama. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
